…it’s what you do when lingerie makers won’t make cup sizes over D! I loved this set from iCollection Lingerie in its entirety but given the longline has thin straps and only fits up to a D cup I had no choice but to make a few changes to feel supported and put together while wearing the garter belt.
The garter belt actually fits great and their scaling is fabulous for being plus and also forgiving. Nothing worse than putting on plus lingerie and finding it to be too tight! For the longline bra though, beware the thin straps and the D cup if you are over a D cup and have FOB breast shaping. This is adorable but when I put it on I had zero support and no matter how much I wiggled around in it I just couldn’t get the D cup to sit on my H cup size at all. I tried with a bra underneath but but a bra under a bra isn’t quite the right solution either.
Nevertheless, enter a new idea – my Ewa Michalak bra (a bra maker who caters to busty and plus size) and a harness from Curvy Vixen in the UK. Once I put that on I felt pulled together and sassy! The jacket I like to wear for a bit of modesty and layering. This set also has the triangle shaped g-string underwear but for myself, these never work either – I do have a bit of an overhang tummy and the triangle shape just doesn’t sit right and I end up pulling on it too much. I opted for a pair of panties I recently acquired from Nessa Lingerie.
With just a few modifications to this set I felt like I had accomplished what I set out to do – feel confident! My takeaway from all this? Don’t blame the lingerie makers – adapt where you can and make your outfit sassy! Perhaps one day lingerie makers will realize their customer base can be over a D cup and create the appropriate bras to go with the bottoms. Until then, forge on…
